Reports say Liverpool have turned down the opportunity to sign Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior this summer. According to talkSPORT, Liverpool have been approached about a potential deal but have not held “meaningful discussions” for the player and are instead focusing on strengthening the right side of their attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure. Another report states that Liverpool’s refusal also leaves space for Arsenal to pursue Vinicius Junior. Arsenal are reported to be exploring a move for the Brazil international, who has 12 months remaining on his contract with Madrid and could become available for a free transfer next summer. Vinicius Junior recently returned from Brazil’s World Cup campaign, where he scored four goals and provided one assist. Separately, Liverpool have also been linked with Yan Diomande, with reports saying an opening €100 million offer was rejected by RB Leipzig, which is holding out for €120 million. Real Madrid’s summer activity is also mentioned, including work on signing Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
