The US Central Command (CENTCOM) says it keeps its naval blockade against Iran in full effect. CENTCOM reports that, as of July 25, US forces have redirected 12 commercial vessels attempting to reach Iranian ports while enforcing the blockade. It says two vessels that did not comply were disabled, and two others were boarded.
CENTCOM also describes enforcement actions in the region. It says US forces completed a “verification boarding” of the Comoros-flagged tanker M/T Charminar in the Arabian Sea, after which the vessel was allowed to continue its voyage. Separately, CENTCOM states that it disabled the Mozambique-flagged tanker M/T Lavine in the Gulf of Oman on July 24, alleging the crew attempted to breach the blockade multiple times and ignored repeated warnings.
