The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has intercepted drugs worth more than N10 billion in separate operations across Nigeria. In a report issued through its spokesperson, NDLEA states that operatives seized cocaine and other illicit substances, including Ludes and opioids, and that some of the interceptions take place at or related to the Lagos ports. The agency describes the seizures as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking and other organized crime activities.
In addition to the drug interceptions, NDLEA says it recovered 401 rounds of military-grade ammunition. The ammunition, according to the agency, was concealed inside kegs of palm oil. NDLEA presents the operations as targeted enforcement actions and does not, in the cited reports, provide details on arrests, the specific consignments’ origin, or the final destination of the seized items.
