The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its National Campaign Council for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026. Multiple outlets report that the council is chaired by Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo State and chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum. The APC also sets up sub-committees to coordinate different aspects of the campaign. Reports describe the council as 276 members, alongside specialised sub-committees totaling 12.

According to the party’s statement relayed by the outlets, Mai Mala Buni (Yobe) and Godswill Akpabio (President of the Senate) serve as co-chairmen, with Tajudeen Abbas (Speaker of the House of Representatives) included among the co-chairmen. Ibrahim Masari is named deputy chairman, while Barau Jibrin is appointed secretary.

The appointments include senior party and government figures such as governors, ministers, principal officers of the national legislature, former governors and other national-level stakeholders. The outlets further report that the campaign council and its sub-committees are scheduled to be inaugurated in Abuja on Tuesday, July 28, ahead of the Osun election.
