RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat says LGBTQ people are part of society and should not be looked down upon or ostracised. Speaking broadly on social inclusion, he characterises LGBTQ individuals as part of the “vast tapestry” of social life and argues they have a place within society.
In the same remarks, Bhagwat links social issues to traditional values and argues that marriage is a discipline that supports broader principles, including “dharma.” He also warns against live-in relationships, saying they are a “blind imitation” of Western culture. Bhagwat urges people to adopt a more responsible approach and cautions that such arrangements should not be treated as casually as newer social trends.
He additionally comments on younger people and family influence, including that Gen Z can be emotional and prone to imitation based on appearances. Bhagwat says parents should limit mobile use and focus on strengthening family bonds, including through leading by example, as part of maintaining social cohesion.
