The African Democratic Congress (ADC) accuses the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of intentionally dividing opposition votes in a way that benefits the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. The allegation is made by Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, the ADC governorship candidate in Jigawa State, with the party’s running mate, Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, raising the claim during a stakeholders’ meeting in Dutse over the weekend.
Ringim argues that the PDP is “pretending” to be in opposition and says it lacks a unified presidential direction, pointing to differences within the party and suggesting some interests are aligned with Nyesom Wike and others. He urges voters to reject the PDP and instead back the ADC, describing the party as a credible alternative. ADC representatives also say they are engaging stakeholders across Jigawa and expect further political defections, while calling on party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
