Daniel Bwala, a Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, accuses Channels Television host Seun Akinbaloye of bias in a recent interview with Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). According to reports, Bwala makes the allegations on his X (formerly Twitter) account, saying the interviewer appears to be “soft” and lacks “grit” and substantive engagement. He characterizes the host as having “turned into a massage therapist,” and argues that the interview did not include enough supporting data or persuasive “click bait,” while describing the overall exchange as lacking substance.
One source also notes that Bwala’s criticism follows an earlier clash with the same host during an interview on the “Politics Today” programme. In that prior exchange, Bwala was questioned about comments he had made against Tinubu before joining the administration. The renewed dispute draws attention to discussions about media neutrality and the fairness of coverage of opposition political figures.
