Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut criticizes videos and remarks she attributes to Gen Z protesters associated with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Her comments center on what she describes as crass language, behavior, and the way protesters are shown in viral “reels.” Ranaut posts the criticism on Instagram, describing the footage as “puke-inducing” and saying it left her “scarred.” She also repeats and mocks the “cockroach” label used by the protesters, arguing that their appearance and conduct match the metaphor. In a subsequent clarification, Ranaut says she is not endorsing normalized behavior in front of children and elders, and she connects her remarks to her view of the media and protest actions at Jantar Mantar.
Separately, reports note that CJP calls off its agitation after talks with Union ministers. The protests had sought the resignation of then Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak, and his resignation is described as meeting the principal demand. A spokesperson for CJP, Saurav Das, questions Ranaut’s wording and motives regarding the movement.
