The U.S. Army says it has recovered the remains of the second American service member who went missing during an incident in Morocco. Multiple outlets report that the Army identified the soldier as Specialist Mariyah Symone Collington, 19, from Tavares, Florida. Her remains are reported to have been found in a coastal cave less than a week after the recovery of the first missing soldier’s body.
The reports state that Collington had been missing since May 2, when two U.S. service members—Collington and 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr.—were reported missing. NPR and other coverage describe the circumstances as involving the two soldiers during a recreational hike in Morocco, after which both were lost.
