Nigerian activist and Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) chieftain Aisha Yesufu says she was irritated by a recent Channels TV interview featuring her party’s 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi. In her remarks shared on X, Yesufu responds to the Sunday interview conducted by Seun Akinbaloye. She says the conversation did not offer anything new, describing it as repetitive and “a waste of time.” According to Yesufu, supporters often expect fresh insights when Obi grants interviews, but she felt that the topics and responses had already been discussed and did not include new questions or perspectives she could use for further discussion.
Yesufu also criticizes how political figures are scrutinized, adding that Obi faces sustained pressure to address the public while she alleges that another political figure—whom she previously accused of rigging himself into the presidency—receives less accountability and tougher questioning. Her comments reflect her view that, amid preparations for the 2027 election, repeated familiar discussions are not producing substantive new developments for Nigeria’s political landscape.
