Police in Bagalkot, Karnataka, arrest a man accused of killing his 23-year-old wife after suspecting an extramarital affair. Investigators say the accused allegedly assaulted his wife with a wooden log before hanging her using a dupatta. Multiple accounts state that the man recorded videos of the woman during her death struggle and shared them with relatives and friends. Reports also say he placed video calls to the woman’s parents, showing her struggling as they watched. The woman’s father files a complaint, after which police register a murder case. Authorities identify the woman as Bhagyashree Jigalur and the accused as Praveen Jigalur. The couple had reportedly been living separately for around two months after the woman left her matrimonial home following frequent arguments, and she returned based on assurances from the accused that they would live together peacefully.
