1Password launches “1Password Privileged Access,” extending its 1Password Unified Access platform with privileged access management (PAM) capabilities. The feature is designed to grant access on demand using just-in-time, least-privilege approaches, particularly for critical infrastructure where standing (always-on) permissions may be difficult to justify or detect.
Alongside the PAM offering, 1Password releases a public preview of “1Password Credential Broker” for GitHub Actions. This is intended to deliver credentials at runtime for automation workflows rather than storing or using long-lived secrets.
In addition, the company announces enhancements to “1Password Enterprise Password Manager” aimed at improving how credentials are found, secured, and governed across developer environments. Financial Post and Help Net Security both frame the updates as part of a broader effort to manage access across infrastructure and operational contexts, including identities used by developers and AI-related workflows. The announcements do not include specific customer case studies or quantitative results, but they position the new tools as mechanisms to limit excessive standing access and tighten governance.
