The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) launches a new Aadhaar-enabled e-portal designed to help members trace and transfer older provident fund (PF) accounts. The portal is intended to simplify the process of locating inoperative or disconnected PF accounts and moving balances to the member’s current account using Aadhaar authentication as part of the verification flow. EPFO says the system supports a secure digital process aimed at reducing the difficulty members face when trying to recover balances tied to previous employment records. Once a member’s old PF details are traced, the transfer mechanism allows the balance to be moved, addressing situations where multiple accounts exist or where older accounts have become inoperative. The initiative focuses on improving accessibility and reliability in PF account management by using Aadhaar to streamline identity checks and account linkage. The portal is presented as a step toward making PF services easier to access online while maintaining security through Aadhaar-based verification.
