Pop Mart, the Beijing-based maker of collectible “blind box” toys including Labubu, is diversifying into food by opening its first international bakery in Singapore. The two-storey Pop Bakery is located opposite Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa and features character-themed desserts and drinks inspired by multiple Pop Mart IP. Across the menu of 45 items, offerings include black sesame Labubu popsicles and double cheesecake Molly, with reported prices ranging from S$5 to S$32. The Singapore opening follows Pop Mart’s debut bakery in Qinhuangdao, China, in April, after the company tested the concept through more than 30 dessert truck pop-ups in China.
Pop Mart says it is using its toy characters to build a broader lifestyle and entertainment business beyond collectibles. Company leadership indicates it is considering further bakery openings abroad, with future locations discussed in Europe and the United States, while also planning dessert shops across parts of Southeast Asia including Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The move comes as the company faces scrutiny over higher production costs and earlier growth expectations, and as analysts note the Labubu craze may be cooling.
