The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) announces a temporary relief measure for students affected by recent floods. In a notification dated July 29, 2026, the board waives fees for issuing duplicate academic documents for students from four districts—Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Golaghat. The free duplicates include pass certificates, admit cards, marksheets, and registration cards related to the HSLC/AHM examinations and the Higher Secondary (HS) final examinations.
ASSEB also changes the documentation required for applications. Instead of submitting a police report or complaint, students can use a self-declaration confirming they are flood-affected. The board says the decision reflects the damage caused by the floods, which leaves many students without essential academic records needed for education and admission-related processes.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and School Education and Higher Education Minister Ranoj Pegu both share the update publicly. The board states that eligible applicants can apply online by uploading the self-certification on the official portals, with HSLC/AHM-related duplicates submitted via sebaservices.in and HS final examination documents via ahsec.assam.gov.in.
