Hamilton police charge two men from the Greater Toronto Area in connection with an alleged youth human-trafficking investigation that authorities say involved multiple victims in Hamilton and Toronto earlier this year. Police say the investigation begins in May after they receive information indicating that youth were being trafficked. In a period running from March to June, detectives allege the accused exploited multiple youth across Hamilton and Toronto.
Police also allege the accused advertised sexual services online and collected proceeds connected to that exploitation. Hamilton police state that more victims may be involved and that additional individuals could come forward as the investigation continues.
In the case reported, two men are charged, including Shemar Walters, 27, of Toronto, and another man from Brampton. The charges stem from the same investigation and relate to alleged trafficking and related activities during the March-to-June window. Police continue to investigate and urge people to provide information that may help identify additional victims.
