A viral video from Indore shows a 14-year-old boy allegedly beating elderly women with a wooden stick at an old age home in the Banganga area. The district administration orders an investigation into the incident and the facility’s functioning after officials receive information about the video. Authorities also question how the home operates and whether it has proper recognition/approval.

Police and administration teams inspect the Premashray (Maharana Pratap Welfare Society) old age home and find concerns during preliminary checks, including that the home appears to run without proper approval. The administration seals the facility and shifts elderly residents to other recognised old age homes, with ill residents reportedly moved to government hospitals.

Officials say the boy has been staying at the home since his mother came to the facility about five months earlier and later died following burn injuries. During the inquiry, police state the boy’s mental condition is not stable, and authorities plan counselling. They instruct the operator to keep him away from elderly residents, hand him over to the Child Welfare Committee, and remove him from the premises. Authorities also initiate steps to register an FIR against the operator and examine permissions related to the home’s operation from a municipal building on government land.
