Arise News anchor Reuben Abati says the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, should resign over what he describes as failures related to the recognition of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). Abati made the remarks on Arise Television’s “Morning Show” on Thursday, reacting to statements by Walson-Jack in which she acknowledged that due diligence was not thoroughly carried out in the process that led to PFIPC’s recognition.
Abati argues that the Federal Civil Service, under Walson-Jack’s leadership, did not properly verify the authenticity of documents before establishing agencies and deploying staff. He says Walson-Jack’s admission amounts to an acknowledgment of lack of professional diligence, and contends that in other countries similar admissions would typically be followed by resignation.
Abati also calls for a comprehensive investigation and proper audit of government agencies to determine whether other offices were created or staffed based on “fake” or unverified documents. He frames the issue as national embarrassment and urges deeper scrutiny into how far the problem may have extended.
