Ladipo Johnson, spokesman for Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, says Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, is unhappy about a growing leadership dispute within the OK Movement. Johnson tells Arise Television that tensions within the movement are real, but he describes the situation as a temporary setback rather than a threat to the group’s political goals. He says the disagreement arises from differences between some members and the movement’s leadership and warns that actions taken during the dispute could create divisions among supporters backing the proposed Obi–Kwankwaso alliance. Johnson also argues that the internal crisis is a distraction at a time when supporters are expected to focus on strengthening the movement’s structure across the country. He adds that Obi has already been briefed on the situation and that Obi is displeased by the ongoing disagreement. The accounts report that Johnson’s position is that unity within the support base should be preserved to avoid undermining efforts to build an alternative ahead of the 2027 polls.
