St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her faces additional allegations of inappropriate conduct after a second senior police official accused her of sexual harassment. The new complaint follows an earlier allegation made by Axel Henry, the St. Paul police chief, for which an inquiry into the mayor’s conduct was confirmed earlier this year. A subsequent report from the Minnesota Star Tribune says it obtained further details of the alleged behavior prompting the initial complaint and now additional claims.
According to the Star Tribune, the latest allegations include allegations that Her made inappropriate comments to a female police officer, including comments about her breasts. The reporting also says Her allegedly placed her own portrait over images of high-ranking police officers in the department’s administrative offices.
The mayor has said she intends to remain in office while the investigation proceeds. Two St. Paul council members have expressed concern that the allegations could affect city business. The accounts describe conduct that is alleged to have created a “sexualized work environment,” but Her’s conduct is still subject to investigation.
