ActionSA president Herman Mashaba says Ayanda Allie will not be required to pay party tithes while she is working for ActionSA, and that any future contributions will depend on whether she is deployed to public office. Mashaba’s comments respond to claims by Allie that her departure from the BOSA party was not caused by a proposed BOSA levy. Allie denies that the levy prompted her exit and instead attributes her decision to other factors.
According to Mashaba, ActionSA’s position is that contributions are linked to official roles: while Allie is engaged with the organisation, the party does not charge her tithes. He adds that ActionSA has not yet demanded further payment, pending any determination of whether she will take up an external or public-facing role.
The dispute centres on the reasons for Allie’s earlier exit from BOSA and the conditions under which ActionSA expects financial contributions from members working for the party, particularly in relation to potential deployment.
