Chase is changing lounge access rules for its Chase Sapphire Lounges. Multiple outlets report that starting August 15, the lounges will no longer accept Priority Pass or LoungeKey guest access, which previously allowed eligible Priority Pass members and LoungeKey users to enter. The change limits free entry to cardholders who qualify under Chase’s own lounge programs. Sources also say access will continue for eligible Chase cardmembers, including certain Ritz-Carlton and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers, rather than through the third-party lounge networks.
In addition to removing Priority Pass and LoungeKey, Chase is adjusting access for cardholders with connecting itineraries. Rather than allowing a standard window tied to arrival, the updated policy provides cardmembers on connecting flights with a longer access period—reported as up to five hours before departure—before they must leave the lounge. The overall effect, according to the reports, is a narrower set of eligible entrants and potentially fewer crowded lounges, alongside more time for some travelers with connections. The changes take effect on August 15 and apply to Chase Sapphire Lounges.
