The governments of Guyana and the Dominican Republic are expanding their energy partnership through a new agreement covering Guyana’s onshore Berbice oil block. Under the deal, the Dominican side receives a 10% stake in the Berbice block. The Dominican Petroleum Refinery (Refidomsa) is designated to represent the Dominican state in the arrangement. Sources also describe the financing structure as requiring no direct cash down payment for the 10% share.
