A first-year medical student is detained for questioning after a handwritten document allegedly containing references related to bomb-making is found at Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College in Ayodhya. The document is reported to have been recovered from the college’s X-ray room on Saturday. College authorities inform police soon after the discovery, and an investigation is launched to determine who prepared the paper and why it was found on the campus.
Officials say the initial inquiry points to Sarfaraz, a first-year student from Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh, who was reportedly on duty in the X-ray room on Friday night. Police take him into custody for questioning and also question two other people who were on duty with him. The handwritten document is being examined, but police have not confirmed whether it is connected to any criminal or extremist activity.
The college administration states that police are informed immediately after the matter comes to its attention and says further action will depend on the investigation’s findings. The incident leads the medical college to increase vigilance and order a review of existing campus security arrangements.
