Multiple outlets report that INEC begins the process at its offices nationwide, presenting documents for President Bola Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima, as well as other leading contenders such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, alongside their respective running mates and party information.
The publications are linked to the Electoral Act 2026, which requires INEC to publish candidates’ particulars within 21 days of receiving nomination forms. While the documents are displayed publicly at INEC offices, one report says the items are not yet uploaded to INEC’s website as of the time of reporting.
Following the disclosure of Tinubu and Shettima’s records, some reports note renewed public debate, particularly around education qualifications. IN addition, INEC’s display allows members of the public to request certified copies of nomination forms and to challenge false declarations in court, according to reporting on the commission’s mandate.
