IRCTC reports that its revamped IRCTC beta website, launched on 15 July, is improving the speed and efficiency of railway ticket bookings, with the largest gains during the Tatkal sales window. According to IRCTC data cited by outlets, bookings completed within the first three minutes of Tatkal ticket sales rise by more than 5% after the beta launch. IRCTC also reports increases for other early timeframes, including a roughly 3% rise in bookings completed within five minutes and over a 2% increase within 30 minutes, compared with the first fortnight of July.

The corporation says the platform upgrade also contributes to a record share of tickets booked online in July 2026. IRCTC reports that 89.84% of railway tickets were booked online during July, reflecting growing use of online reservations and easing load on the Passenger Reservation System (PRS).

IRCTC attributes the improvements to changes in the beta site, including a streamlined booking flow, fewer repetitive CAPTCHAs, reduced pop-up interruptions, and a redesigned interface that shows seat availability for multiple travel classes on a single screen. IRCTC says it continues to refine the beta site based on passenger feedback.
