Suspected bandits attack Kasuwar-Daji community in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State and overrun a nearby military outpost, according to reports shared by journalist Bakatsine on X. The attack is reported to have occurred on Saturday night. Bakatsine says the attackers overpower troops at the outpost, killing four soldiers and injuring several others. He also reports that the bandits set a military Hilux vehicle and soldiers’ accommodation on fire. After the assault on the military position, the attackers are reported to move into the community, where they abduct about 70 residents, mainly women and children. The reports also state that the bandits loot shops before withdrawing. Reinforcements are said to arrive from Gusau, the state capital, after the attack. As of the time of the reports, neither the Nigerian Army nor the Zamfara State Government has issued an official statement confirming the details.
