Nigerian Army officials say that during sustained operations in Nigeria’s South-East, members of militant groups surrender arms and security forces recover weapons and explosives. According to the Army’s statement cited by The Punch and Vanguard, troops from the 82 Division and the Joint Task Force South-East, under Operation Udoka, receive the surrenders and carry out intelligence-led patrols and raids. The outlets report that beyond the weapons handed over by militants, troops recover additional arms and explosives.
