Nigerian Army troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA repel a terrorist attack on a Forward Operating Base in Kasuwan Daji, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, and rescue nine abducted civilians. The Army says the attackers attempt to infiltrate the base at about 1:40 a.m. on Saturday but are met with gunfire that forces them to retreat. During the ensuing fight, one Army soldier and one police officer are killed, while two other soldiers are reported injured and moved for medical treatment, with their condition described as stable.

The Army further states that reinforcements pursue the fleeing attackers and enable the recovery of nine abducted residents from nearby communities. The service also addresses online reports that more personnel may have died, saying such claims are not accurate.

The Army frames the operation as a setback for terrorist groups in Nigeria’s North-West region and reiterates its efforts to dismantle insurgent networks and restore security.
