A five-year-old boy in Mysuru dies after choking on a plastic toy found inside a snack packet he had eaten. NDTV identifies the child as Mukund Mayur, a resident of Gauripura village, and says he is the only son of Santosh and Aishwarya. The Times of India reports that the boy choked on the toy after discovering it in the snack packet purchased by his family, and that rescue efforts begin immediately after the incident. Despite the efforts, the child dies. Times of India adds that the incident is registered as accidental after verification by Bilikere police, and that no complaints are filed. Both reports describe the death as a result of the toy being swallowed while the child was consuming the snack. The family is also said to have recently faced another loss within the previous six months, according to Times of India.
