On the 11th day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, the House prosecution examines a former Commission on Audit (COA) auditor who previously worked in the COA Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office (COA-ICFAO). COA auditor Roderick Wamil is scheduled to testify before the Senate impeachment court as it proceeds with Article I of the complaint. Wamil states that he served in the COA-ICFAO from 2014 to 2024 and that, based on his audit work, neither former Vice Presidents Jejomar Binay nor Leni Robredo had confidential fund allocations. He also explains that his confidential-fund audit work covered the Office of the Vice President under Duterte and her Department of Education, describing these as the offices he audited because other prior occupants of those posts had no appropriations for such funds. The testimony focuses on how confidential funds were allocated and audited for the relevant government offices during the period Wamil worked at COA’s intelligence and confidential funds unit.
