Actress Huma Qureshi responds to online backlash over the song “Tabaahi” from the upcoming film Toxic, where Kiara Advani and Yash perform intimate scenes. Qureshi criticises what she calls sexist trolling aimed at Kiara, saying the reactions are “sick, disgusting.” She points to the apparent double standard in which Yash, who is also married and a father, does not face comparable scrutiny despite appearing in the same sequences. Qureshi also notes that social media users extend criticism beyond the on-screen pairing, targeting Kiara’s personal life and even directing comments at her husband, actor Sidharth Malhotra. In her remarks, she argues that it is not possible to change people’s mindset through arguments and says the film will be the best response, adding that the women in the project will “have the last laugh.” Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash, Kiara Advani and others including Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26.
