West Bengal’s State Task Force (STF) arrests a third suspected associate of Hamim Mondal, described as a Jaish-e-Mohammed operative, in Howrah. According to investigators, the newly arrested man, Aditya Singh, is apprehended after Mondal is earlier taken into custody from Burdwan. Officials say Singh is alleged to have served as a local source for Mondal and that contact between them began through an online gaming platform, before Singh becomes drawn into the suspected conspiracy.
Both reports state that investigators are examining Mondal’s communications as part of the probe. They allege that Mondal communicates with Pakistan-based handlers using encrypted messaging applications and that digital evidence is being reviewed to identify links and broader network connections.
The investigation also focuses on alleged links to the Pakistan-backed Shahzad Bhatti group, according to officials. The STF continues to probe the role of Singh and other associates while building a case around alleged terror-related coordination and communication channels.
