CNN names Stefano Pozzebon as an international correspondent based in its Rome bureau, according to Variety and Deadline. In the role, Pozzebon is responsible for covering major news stories in Italy and across Europe for CNN’s linear and digital platforms. CNN’s Rome bureau includes coverage of the Vatican through Christopher Lamb, CNN’s Vatican correspondent, and Pozzebon is expected to work alongside him.

Both outlets also note Pozzebon’s prior reporting background. Deadline adds that he previously contributed to CNN from Bogota, Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela, delivering coverage across Latin America in English and Spanish. Deadline further says he most recently reported from Venezuela on the twin earthquakes that killed thousands of people.

CNN’s appointment reflects an expansion of its European presence through a Rome base while maintaining Vatican coverage. The announcement indicates Pozzebon’s reporting duties will span both Italy-focused and broader European developments for multiple CNN distribution channels.
