A kidnapped woman from Ariyo/Ariko in Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, is reported to have been released after about 180 days in captivity, together with three of her daughters. Multiple outlets report that the woman and the children were abducted during an attack on the community around the Easter period, when several residents were reportedly killed.

One report says the abductors initially demanded a ransom of N1 billion. Another account describes that the woman was pregnant at the time of kidnapping, and that the family was later released after escaping or being freed by the captors’ den. The four surviving daughters are described as severely weakened during the ordeal, with one child reportedly ill while still in captivity.

The accounts further state that after reaching a village in Kachia LGA, they were taken in by locals and later moved for medical care to stabilise their health before being brought to Kaduna. The sources also note that other victims from the same communities remain in the kidnappers’ custody.
