Nigeria’s Police Force says it is investigating Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Moshood Jimoh, who heads Zone 2 Lagos, following public allegations made by social media personality Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan. Multiple reports say the police invites and questions are part of internal administrative processes. The Force says Jimoh is invited for questioning by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as part of an internal accountability review. The police also states it has invited Otse to substantiate his claims.

The Force further links some aspects of the dispute to a separate criminal matter already investigated and currently before a court, saying the issue is sub judice and that only the judiciary can determine it. In public statements, the police emphasize due process and say it will not litigate or prejudge matters through media campaigns or online commentary. The reports also mention a scheduled appearance for Otse at the Force CID in Abuja on July 30, 2026, according to the Force’s communications.
