An OCTA Research Tugon ng Masa survey finds that Vice President Sara Duterte leads Naga City Mayor and former Vice President Leni Robredo in a hypothetical one-on-one presidential election scenario for 2028, though Duterte’s lead is described as narrower than in earlier results. The survey was conducted July 4 to 11 among 1,200 adult respondents. Respondents were asked: “If the May 2028 elections were held today, who would you vote for as President?” In the head-to-head matchup, 43% said they would vote for Duterte, while 34% said they would vote for Robredo. The remaining respondents—22%—were undecided, said they would not choose either candidate, or declined to answer. One outlet also notes that Duterte remains the preferred choice but that the advantage has tightened since the first quarter of 2026, based on OCTA’s earlier comparisons. Both reports characterize the figures as hypothetical vote intention and do not indicate that either candidate has officially secured a nomination.
