Senate Acting Sergeant-at-Arms Mao Aplasca says a review of available Senate CCTV has not yet located footage showing the movements of the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) personnel and Marines during the May 13 Senate shooting. Aplasca told reporters that the only CCTV images they could confirm showed the end portion of the security forces’ confrontation involving National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents, noting that he also saw flashes of gunfire from the NBI on the cameras. His comments came amid questions about whether Senate CCTV could support possible actions related to the incident, including reports linked to Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
Separately, Inquirer reports that OSAA personnel appear before the Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) as part of an ongoing probe into the shooting. PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the appearance was confirmed by CIDG National Capital Region chief Col. John Guiagui.
OSAA also issued a statement denying online claims that Senate CCTV was missing or not covering the building’s second floor during the incident, saying the CCTV system was fully operational at the time.
