The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, is backing Sunday Igboho’s Iru Ekun Security Network with a reported donation of ₦100 million and a Toyota Hilux vehicle. Multiple outlets report that the support is announced following a courtesy visit by Igboho and members of the security network to the Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife.

The reports also say Igboho, a Yoruba nation advocate known as Sunday Adeyemo, discusses plans for a security summit involving traditional rulers. According to the sources, the proposed summit is intended to bring together monarchs from across the South West (and/or Yorubaland) to deliberate on security challenges, regional unity, and practical steps to improve community safety. One outlet adds that the summit would be hosted by the Ooni in Ile-Ife, subject to his approval.

In statements attributed to the palace, the Ooni commends Igboho’s efforts toward strengthening community security and calls for unity among Yoruba leaders and stakeholders. Igboho, in turn, expresses appreciation for the Ooni’s support and reiterates the plan to convene the summit.
