Police in Vancouver investigate a break-in at a collectibles shop in which high-value Pokémon trading cards were stolen. According to investigators, two masked suspects enter the store and use force to remove a safe from inside the business. Multiple reports state the thieves obtain and use a stolen pickup truck to rope the safe and pull it out, then leave the scene before abandoning the truck in Surrey.
Vancouver Sun and Global News both report that police review video evidence from the break-in. Global News adds that investigators use the footage to identify the suspects’ actions, including the method of transporting the safe with the truck. Police also say the suspects ultimately escape with items from the store, including valuable Pokémon cards, and that the vehicle is later found abandoned in the Surrey area.
Investigators continue to follow up on leads related to the suspects and the stolen vehicle as they work to recover the stolen cards and safe.
