BBC announces that actor Lawrence Robb is the 12th celebrity to join the Strictly Come Dancing 2026 line-up. Robb is known for playing Mackenzie “Mack” Boyd on ITV soap Emmerdale, part of the Dingle family. The announcement comes ahead of the show’s return later this year, with Strictly launching in September. Robb comments on joining the programme and says he is looking forward to taking part in the ballroom competition. Sources also note he has worked outside Emmerdale, including roles in the dark comedy I Hate Suzie and in West End productions such as Legally Blonde and Mojo.

Robb joins an already announced cast that includes Lacey Turner (from EastEnders) and Jaime Winstone, along with other celebrities from music, sport and reality TV. Reported additions include Will Best (Big Brother), Delta Goodrem, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Dani Dyer. Dyer, who was originally cast for a prior series, later withdrew from training due to an injury. The remaining three contestants are expected to be revealed before the September launch, which also features Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe making their hosting debuts.
