Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, says he was present for President Bola Tinubu’s phone call with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. The reports say Tinubu contacts the governor, who is also the candidate of the Accord Party for the August 15, 2026 gubernatorial election in the state. According to the outlets, Tinubu informs the governor of a directive to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to reverse its decision to freeze Osun State government accounts. The phone call is attributed to a disclosure by Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, who reportedly posted details on his official X handle. Davido then shares the post and comments that he was “there live” and “witnessed history.” One report also adds that Davido has publicly claimed that he believes no one can defeat him in a free and fair election in Nigeria if he chooses to run for political office. The accounts focus on Davido’s statement and the reported content of the presidential call, including the EFCC-related directive.
