Australian actor Uli Latukefu is reportedly set to play Ganondorf in Sony Pictures and Nintendo’s live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Multiple outlets cite reporting from Deadline and The New York Times journalist Kyle Buchanan, who say Latukefu is in talks for—or has landed—the role, though studios have not formally confirmed the casting publicly. Deadline further adds that Latukefu has reportedly signed a multi-picture deal, which implies his character could appear across more than one installment. Other reported cast members already attached to the project include Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, with set images and additional speculation pointing to Dichen Lachman as Impa. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 30, 2027, directed by Wes Ball, with Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad among the producers. Overall coverage treats the Ganondorf casting as a strong industry report rather than an official announcement, while noting the possibility of an expanded film franchise based on the reported contract terms.
