The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) issues an advisory for NEET UG 2026 counselling requiring OCI and NRI candidates seeking NRI-quota consideration to complete document verification before they can fill and lock their choices. MCC instructs eligible candidates to undergo credential verification through the NRI Document Verification Team. The verification is intended to confirm eligibility for the NRI category, where applicable, before candidates gain access to NRI seat options during the choice-filling stage.

After MCC verifies the documents and confirms eligibility, candidates can view both NRI seats and Indian Unreserved (UR) seats while filling their preferences. MCC also advises candidates not to delay the verification process, warning that any postponement could create difficulties when the choice-filling window opens.

According to the advisory, candidates who want to apply for NRI quota seats must select “YES” during registration against the question asking whether they want to apply for NRI quota seats. The notice applies to OCI and NRI candidates participating in MCC counselling for NEET UG 2026.
