The team behind the CinePanalo Film Festival launches Teatro Panalo, an inaugural theater festival that calls for original Filipino one-act plays and musicals. Produced and organized by Wishbone Collective, Inc., the festival seeks to discover and develop new works by Filipino playwrights and to bring selected pieces to live audiences.
The festival will select 12 entries for full production: eight straight plays and four musicals. Selected playwrights receive P100,000 in compensation, along with dramaturgical support and production resources intended to help finalize and mount their works. The organizers also plan staged presentations before live audiences, following a development process from submission through production.
