Former governor Bisi Akande meets Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) elders, including Senator Iyiola Omisore, as the party reviews preparations for the Saturday governorship election. The meeting takes place at Akande’s country home in Ila Orangun and is organised by the Osun APC Elders’ Caucus, also described as “Agba Osun.” A photograph of Akande and Omisore walking together circulates online, prompting questions about whether any additional private engagement follows.

According to participants cited by one outlet, the meeting focuses on assessing the APC’s campaign so far and making suggestions to improve prospects. Another participant says there is no separate private meeting after the main gathering. The director-general of Omisore’s campaign organisation later says the photo is taken during the meeting and that the two men also share lunch afterwards, along with a discussion about how to win the election.

The election is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, with 14 political parties cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission to participate.
