Ajay Devgn is set to host the popular crime series Crime Patrol for the upcoming 2026 season, replacing long-time host Anup Soni. Multiple outlets report that Devgn has already shot around 15 episodes, and that the extent of his continued involvement will depend on audience response and ratings.
The change marks Devgn’s television hosting debut for the franchise, which has been closely associated with Soni for many years. Times of India and Free Press Journal also note that the final number of episodes Devgn hosts is still not fixed, while Rajesh Tailang has been brought in to host additional episodes of the new season.
Free Press Journal and Times of India further say the new season begins on Monday, August 31, 2026, airing on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television. Free Press Journal adds that a promo released for the season is titled “Crime Patrol 2026 – Crime Ka Current Season,” and features Devgn discussing crime cases in a familiar “close to home” framing, while offering no additional details about the specific cases beyond that the stories are meant to be chilling and widely impactful.
