A seven-year-old boy dies after an e-rickshaw overturns and crushes him following a collision in Faridabad’s Sector 31, police say. The incident happens around 5:30 pm on Saturday as the child cycles near his home. He is taken to a hospital but is pronounced dead from his injuries.
Police say the e-rickshaw, carrying large water bottles, swerves in an attempt to avoid hitting the child and goes onto a ramp near a house before losing balance and overturning. The incident is shown in CCTV footage that captures the collision between the bicycle and the e-rickshaw. According to police, the heavy load contributes to the vehicle’s loss of balance while ascending the ramp.
The driver is apprehended, and an FIR is registered based on the child’s father’s complaint. Authorities state the body is handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination. While both outlets report the same basic sequence—collision, swerving, ramp, overturning, and the child’s death—one outlet focuses more on details from CCTV and the weight of the water bottles, while the other highlights the family’s reaction and police explanation for the rickshaw’s instability.
