Apple’s iOS 27 beta 5 expands Siri AI voice customization, adding more voice options that users can tailor with controls for Pace and Expressivity. Earlier iOS 27 betas limited these sliders to two newly introduced Siri voices with an American accent.

According to reports, the updated feature now applies to additional voice selections, including seven American voices and four British voices. Pace adjusts the speed of Siri’s speech, while Expressivity changes how the voice emphasizes or delivers lines.

Apple also restricts availability to devices that can support the on-device customization. One report says Siri voice customization is limited on iPhones to newer models, specifically iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air. On other platforms, the same source indicates support for Macs with an M3 chip or newer (and at least 12GB RAM) and iPad Pros with an M4 chip or newer (and at least 12GB RAM).
