Delhi Congress stages protests across the national capital against rising fuel and milk prices, drawing attention to the impact of inflation on daily life. Demonstrations are held outside petrol pumps and dairy booths, organised under the party’s 258 Block Congress Committees (BCCs). Workers protest with placards citing increased costs of essential commodities, and they allege that higher petrol, diesel and milk prices are burdening common people and worsening inflation.
The protests come a day after the BJP-led Centre increases petrol and diesel prices by Rs 3 per litre in major cities. Congress leaders and workers from multiple district units, including Chandni Chowk, participate with slogans targeting the government’s policies. In one reported action, some leaders arrive by bullock cart to underscore what they say is the strain on residents due to higher fuel costs.
Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav (also reported as Devendra Yadav) joins the demonstrations and criticises the government’s handling of the cost of essential items. Across outlets, Congress frames the protest as a response to recent fuel price changes and rising milk prices.
